Family tradition of naming guns

My grandpa named all his hunting rifles. When he died, those names meant something. Now I sometimes do the same thing and think about him when I use them. It's not really about the gun itself, it's the memories attached. Anyone else have family traditions like this with naming guns?

My dad did not ever call his guns names, but he'd tell stories of where he got them. I began calling them the stories that he will tell. It helps me think about the people who are not here with me.
