I’ve been thinking about this lately, were older firearms really made with better craftsmanship and longevity or do today’s materials and machining actually win out?
From a collector's point of view, old guns feel like they were made with care, but when the weather's bad, new metal and coatings are better than what they used to use.
When I'm training people, I notice they do well with how modern guns feel but older guns teach you control because they're heavier and made more simply.
