The first time I went deer hunting, I didn’t check the wind direction and I spent the whole morning wondering why nothing showed up near my stand...I learned that lesson the hard way.
 
I used to bang my gears around, making a ton of noise and then I'd be wondering why all the animals stayed away
 
My biggest mistake was planning too much, more than i was actually hunting. I paid more attention to maps than what was around me. Once I slowed down and started looking and listening, I saw more animals..experience showed me that it's smarter to watch than to guess.
