I'm trying to pick a reloading press and torn between a progressive for speed and a single-stage for precision. Progressives crank out rounds fast but can hide mistakes...single-stages teach you every step and make tuning easier. I mainly load for range and occasional hunting, which press would you recommend for accuracy-first loaders?

If you want the best accuracy for range and hunting, go with a single-stage press. You get more control and can fine-tune things better, plus the steps are clearer. Progressive presses are good if you load a lot but not if you're after top-notch precision.

Are you mostly reloading for rifles or pistols?

If you care most about accuracy, begin with the single-stage press first. You can always get a progressive later if you want to make a lot of ammo for the range

Progressive presses are good when you need a lot of ammo quick but they can hide small mistakes and take longer to set up. I think you should begin with a single stage if accuracy is what you want, then get a progressive later if you start needing real volume
